Family-Owned
At a young age, H. Mike Cook developed a deep compassion for family and friends who were experiencing the loss of loved ones. This genuine devotion led him to working part-time for the Cavin family funeral home while still in high school and eventually accepting a full time position in 1973. In 1990 Mike partnered with James V. Houston to acquire Cavin Funeral Home. Five years later Mike became sole proprietor and the name was changed to Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
For over fifty years, Mike and his family have honored the traditions established by J.P. Cavin in 1925, providing meaningful funeral services and trusted cremation services with exceptional attention to detail. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home is proud to call the Lake Norman area “home” and strives to meet the ever changing needs of the growing community.
