Winston Keith Martin Jr., 88, of Mooresville, NC, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026. Born on May 7, 1938, in Bedford, Virginia, Keith was the son of the late Winston Keith Martin and Ruby Hughes Martin. He was preceded in death by his brothers, David Martin and Gary Martin. Keith spent his career first in textiles and later in the mortgage industry. He met the love of his life, Phyllis, while attending High Point University, and the two were married in 1958. They shared 67 years of marriage filled with love, family, faith, and many cherished memories. Keith was an active member of Central United Methodist Church, where he served on various committees. His greatest passion was golf. He enjoyed both playing and teaching the game and was deeply involved with The First Tee organization, sharing his love of golf and its life lessons with others. He and Phyllis also treasured their time at Hilton Head Island, a place that held many special memories for them. Keith is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Phyllis Minter Martin; daughters, Michelle Stone and her husband, Doug, of Bassett, VA, and Crista Witherspoon, of Mooresville, NC; son, Trey Martin and his wife, Angela, of Troutman, NC; seven grandsons; two great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Martin and his wife, Sandy, and sister, Kathy Gullick. He will also be lovingly remembered by the many friends, family members, and caregivers whose kindness and care meant so much to him and his family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Patricia Sifford, Kee Kee, Gabby, Kamesha and Kristina for their kind and loving care of Keith. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville, NC. Keith will be remembered for his gentle spirit, devotion to his family, love of golf, commitment to his church and community, and the many lives he touched throughout his 88 years.
