It is with deep sorrow, yet with hearts full of love, that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard Henry McConville, age 73, of Mooresville, North Carolina, on January 22, 2026. Richard passed away surrounded by his loving daughters, granddaughter, and family, after fighting courageously until his final breath. He was reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Linda McConville, with whom he shared 47 beautiful years of marriage. Richard was a devoted and loving father to his daughters, Stacey (Dennis) and Michele, and to his late son, Richard Jr. He was a proud and deeply cherished "Poppy" to his six grandchildren: Ian, Danielle, Alexa, Natalia, Riley, and Lucas, each of whom brought immeasurable joy and meaning to his life. Born on March 31, 1952, in Bay Shore, New York, Richard carried his strong spirit, kind heart, and unmistakable warmth with him wherever life led. He is survived by his sisters, brother, and his sister and brother-in-laws. He was dearly loved by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Richard made Mooresville his home for the past 25 years, where he proudly owned and operated his painting business; work he took great pride in and poured his heart into. Loving, kind, and endlessly funny, Richard had a contagious smile that could light up any room. His quick wit and sense of humor had a way of making everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and loved. He found happiness in the simple joys of life, riding his Harley, watching cop shows and Judge Judy, enjoying NASCAR races, and always having a Pepsi close by. Richard's huge heart, bright blue eyes, and unforgettable sense of humor will be deeply missed but forever remembered. His legacy of love, laughter, strength, and devotion lives on through his family and all those whose lives he touched. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, 494 East Plaza Drive, Mooresville, NC 28115.
