Patricia Mary Coogan Richart arrived in Heaven on June 10, 2026, with a sweet smile and a witty greeting to all. Born on March 17, 1933, in Watertown, Wisconsin, to Christopher Cornelius (Neil) Coogan and Lillian Cameron Nelson Coogan, Pat grew up alongside her four brothers. She attended Catholic elementary school and graduated from Watertown High School. Soon after, she married her high school sweetheart, Jim Richart. Together, they shared 73 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, service, and lasting friendships. Family was the heart of Pat's life. She was a devoted wife to Jim and a loving mother to their four children: Sharon Myers (Hank), Theresa Mitchell (Scott), Kevin Richart (Debbie), and Daniel Richart (Stephanie). Through her example, she instilled in her children her quiet strength, unwavering determination, and warm compassion. Pat was also a cherished grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Nathan Myers (Stephanie), Lillian Cameron Myers Littell (Ryan), Paige Myers, Claire Myers (Jason), Matthew Mitchell, Patrick Richart (Katie), Stanley Richart (Janessa), Meredith Harkey (Ryan), Sara Richart Kistler (Caleb), Nicholas Richart (Katie), and Lauren Hawkins. She delighted in her thirteen great-grandchildren-Parker, Camden, Raegan, Grayson, Vivi, Max, Isla, Emory, Grier, Brooks, Brandtley, Laurel, and Poppy. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever treasure their time with her and will carry her laughter, encouragement and unconditional love always. A Life of Service Pat dedicated much of her life to serving others and her community. She volunteered with numerous organizations, including the Girl Scouts, Baptist Children's Hospital, and the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce. A member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville, she sang in the choir and was actively involved in parish's women's service organizations, generously sharing her time and talents through acts of service and faith. Throughout her life, she worked as a secretary in various businesses. Pat retired from the faculty administration group at Davidson College. A Life Well Lived Despite her many commitments to family and work, Pat always made time for fun and friendship. She and Jim enjoyed a rich social life with their many friends, participating in church activities, card club, square dancing, neighborhood boating outings, Renew Group breakfasts, and the Do Nothing social club, to name only a few. Pat loved hosting family dinners and took the ever-growing number of loved ones attending in stride. She also inherited her father's love of gardening and took great pleasure in her vegetable and flower gardens. Pat's legacy is one of quiet faith, kindness, generosity, and devotion to those she loved. Her life touched countless people, and the memory of her sweet smile will stay with all who were blessed to know her. Pat is predeceased by her parents, her devoted husband James Richart, brothers Frank Coogan, Richard Coogan, Daniel Coogan and daughter-in-law Gina Richart (Burton). A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday July 7, 2026 in the Chapel at St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville NC, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00PM. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Iredell County or Alzheimer's Association. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Mrs. Pat's devoted caregiver and friend, Mary Heath, Hospice of Iredell County and the staff at Cadence Mooresville for their compassionate care.
