Ms. Mary Caldwell Carr, 76, of Mooresville, NC, departed this life on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on May 19, 1948 to the late Paul Edward and Juanita Troutman Caldwell. Mary attended Iredell County Schools and later received her high school diploma online. She worked for over 30 years at Burlington Mills until they closed, later joining NGK Ceramics where she later retired. Mary cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her family was her heartbeat, and she was the glue that held them together through all of life's challenges. In Mary's earlier years, she loved yard-selling, shopping, scratch-offs and slot machines. She even took on the hobby of smashing cans! In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by brothers, John, Hubert, and Albert Caldwell; sisters, Margaret Shipp, Berthenia Gibbs, Brenda White and Betty Latter; and a granddaughter; Brittany Caldwell. Mary leaves to cherish her memories of her three loving children Marshall Todd Caldwell (Michelle) of Stanley, NC, Umekia Carr of Mooresville, NC, Jim Dewon Carr (Jehan) of Troutman, NC; bonus son Greg Stewart of Statesville, NC; brother Norman Caldwell (Mary Inez)of Troutman, NC; sister Lois Allison (Louis) of Mooresville, NC; sister in love Paulette Caldwell of Mooresville, NC; 13 grandchildren Todric (Kalee), Darrel, and Charra Morrison, Taquisha Adams, Lamario Johnson, KyYonna Gray, Tamara and Mynesha Phifer, Sedasia and Olivia Carr, Zion Torrence, Shawanna Nichols; 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mary had a special niece, Shanita White of the home, who helped care for her during her declining health. Mary will be deeply missed but her legacy of love, laughter and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. The family would like to express gratitude, appreciation and sincere thanks for all the acts of kindness and love shown during their time of bereavement.
