Mary Jane Allgood Waller, 89, of Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Concord Assisted Living Facility in Concord. She was born March 12, 1927, an only child, in Waynesville, Tennessee to Jesse and Mary Fears. In 1949, she was married in Atlanta Ga. to the late Samuel Davis Waller, Jr. Jane graduated from Bessie Tift College, currently Mercer College, with a degree in Home Economics. She had a diverse career as a pathology assistant, teacher and social worker. She retired in 1989 from Alexander Children’s Home (Alexander Youth Network). Her passion for nature, children, animals, arts, and especially crafts which she would often gift to family and friends. She and Dave spent their last remaining retired years together in their dream home on Lake Norman with family and many friends. Jane loved cooking and entertaining all guests. The house was filled with celebration all summers. Jane was a good wife, mother, and kind generous friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. She would always say, "Do something even if it’s wrong." Jane is forever remembered by her three daughters; Mary JoAnne Waller; Peggy Jean Kay and husband, Joe; Nancy Jane Innes and husband Ray. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Megan Kay, Lindsey Kay, and Kayla Neal; two great grandchildren; Kaylee and Khiya. And all those she touched with such good humor and love. The family would like to give appreciation to John and Camella Pearce and family for their dependable, time, care, and love during the difficult times. The family will receive friends on Monday September 12 from 1-2 pm at Cavin–Cook Funeral Home, 494 E. Plaza Dr. Mooresville, NC 28115, with a Graveside service following at 2:30 pm at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville, with Rev. Tom McCrea officiating. Following the graveside service the family would like to invite family and friends to the Heritage House located at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home for refreshments and family gathering. Memorials may be sent to Alexander Youth Network, 6220 Thermal Road, Charlotte, NC, 28211. Flowers will also be accepted and may be sent to Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
