"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted…" Martha Louise Williford Poston, aged 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 22, 2018. Martha, better known as Marty or Mamaw, was born on March 25, 1921 in Mooresville, NC, to John Enos and Carrie Deleah Hobbs Williford. She was a member of Prospect Presbyterian Church in Mooresville. She married Roy Calvin Poston on December 22, 1940. They were blessed with two children, Donna Leah and John Kim. Marty was truly a treasure to her family and to all who were privileged to know her. She loved her family, the beach, where she and her husband lived for several years, her church, making a wonderful home for her family, and providing for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Marty was the epitome of Southern grace and charm and was indeed a living example of Christ’s love to all she met. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Poston; her daughter, Donna Poston Craven; her son-in-law, Ronnie Carroll Craven; and eight brothers and sisters, Bernice, Alma, Johnsie, Rowena, Lucille, Bess, Carroll, and George. Marty is survived by her son, John Kim Poston (Dawn), grandchildren, Leah Craven Donaldson (Charles), Scott Craven (Kathey Watson and her children, Zakk and Nikki), Angela Craven Newsome (Watty), Clint Poston, Schuyler Poston Cook (Daniel); great grandchildren, Chad, Gabby, Kendele, Braxton, Riley, Lani, Mason, Taiven, and Iree; great great grandchildren, Sawyer and Eli; her "adopted granddaughters", Kathy Allison, Shauna Smith and Tamara Crawford, whose love and care for Marty knew no bounds, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 27 from 10:00-11:00 AM with a Celebration of life following at 11:00 AM at Prospect Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Milholland officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prospect Presbyterian Church, 9425 W. NC 152 Hwy, Mooresville, NC 28115 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
