Marsha Rodgers Cashion, of Cornelius, North Carolina, passed on to her heavenly home on March 26, 2026, at the age of 69. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and deep devotion to her family and friends. Marsha is survived by her husband, Pat; her brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Sue Rodgers; her sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Elizabeth, and Kevin and Abby; and her beloved grandchildren, Jack, Ruby, Emerson, and Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and George Rodgers. She was born on November 3, 1956, in Mooresville, North Carolina, to George and Ruth Rodgers. From an early age, she experienced profound loss. Challenges that would shape her life in many ways. Yet, despite these hardships, she carried a remarkable light within her that never dimmed. A humble servant, Marsha lived her life each day as an expression of her faith, quietly and faithfully loving and caring for those around her. Marsha graduated from Mooresville High School in 1975 and from Appalachian State University in 1979. She met the love of her life, Pat, while working as a tournament scorekeeper at the Mooresville Golf Course. They were married in 1980 and celebrated 45 years of marriage this past November. She began her career as a schoolteacher before dedicating 34 years of service to the YMCA. Her life was marked by a deep commitment to serving others. Over the years, she volunteered with hospice, offering comfort and compassion to individuals and families in their most difficult moments. She was also an active member of "The 12 Ordinary Women," a group devoted to gathering resources to bless the under-resourced in their community. Through these acts of service, she faithfully lived out her calling to love others well. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being surrounded by those she loved. Whether with friends or family, she was most at home in the presence of others. As a proud and devoted "Nana" to her four grandchildren, she found her greatest joy in being with them and watching them grow. She was a true gatherer of people and a constant champion of those she loved, giving freely of her time, her resources, and her boundless love. She found joy in life's simplest and most beautiful moments, feeling most alive with her toes in the sand, fresh mountain air in her lungs, or browsing the aisles of Goodwill. Anyone who met Marsha was forever changed. She touched thousands of lives with her kindness and compassion. While her passing leaves an emptiness in the lives she touched, we rejoice in knowing that she is home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31st from 6:00-7:30 PM at Storyhill Church in Davidson. At 7:30 PM, we will open the floor for anyone who would like to share their favorite memories of Marsha and have light refreshments. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 1st at 12:00 PM at Storyhill Church. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Glenwood Memorial Park, immediately after the funeral service. Parking Information for Wednesday: There is no parking available at the church for Wednesday's service. Limited street parking is available nearby, but primary parking will be at Lake Norman YMCA. Shuttles will run to and from the church from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Parking will be available at the church for Tuesday evening's visitation.
