Jaunitta June Ellison Bailey, 66, of Mooresville, NC, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 25, 1959, in Mercer County, WV, to the late Ira and Lula Mills Ellison. North Carolina became her home in 1998, where she put down roots and built a life centered on faith, family, and love. She shared a loving marriage of nearly 45 years with her husband, Jimmy, with their 45th wedding anniversary set to be celebrated on June 14. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion to one another. They balanced each other beautifully. Jimmy's playful, lighthearted nature complemented her calm, thoughtful spirit. Through every season of life, they remained devoted partners, facing life's joys and challenges side by side. She affectionately called him "my Jimmy." Family was one of her greatest joys and blessings. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Sara, and shared a special bond with her sister, Opal Faye, and her nieces, Katelyn Belcher and Heather Russo, whom she loved as her own daughters. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, Addie, Emma, Liam, and Greyson, finding great joy in watching them grow and celebrating their accomplishments. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond titles and relationships. She had a gift for making people feel welcomed, cared for, and loved. She treasured the relationships she shared with her siblings and valued the many memories they created together over the years. Above all, she loved the Lord and sought to honor Him through the way she lived. Her faith was not something she simply spoke about. It was evident in the kindness she showed, the compassion she extended, and the grace with which she cared for others. Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and selfless love were a reflection of God's love and left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy; her daughter, Sara Bailey Busby and husband, Billy Busby; her grandchildren, Addie, Emma, Liam, and Greyson; her sister, Opal Faye Ellison (Lucas); her nieces, Katelyn Belcher and Heather Russo (James) ; and her siblings, Gracie Kimbrough, Alfred Ellison, Ira Ellison, John Ellison, Cathy Smith, Sam Ellison, Mollie Taylor, Pollie Ellison (Buddy), Mary Ann Hammons (Brian), Richard Ellison, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Rebecca Echols, Tommy Ellison, Joe Ellison, and Glenda Shupe. A gathering to celebrate Jaunitta's life will be held at the Bailey home at a later date to be announced, just as she would have wanted.
