Edna Muriel Jeans Booth Goelzer, 83, of Mt. Ulla, NC peacefully passed away at her home on July 23, 2026. She was born on March 14, 1943, to Lonie and Lois Medlin Jeans in Edgecombe County, NC. Edna loved her family, cooking, gardening, the beach and her career as a hairdresser. She had a gift for enhancing one's natural beauty and was a dedicated educator and mentor. As founder of Edna's Styling Booth in Mooresville, NC she promoted change in the industry for over 30 years; developing a salon atmosphere where everyone worked together, shared the same goal, used quality products and served Iredell County. Edna would lend her services to area schools, nursing homes and funeral homes. Her career began in an unlikely way: a neighbor entered her in a contest at a local beauty school where she won Honorable Mention. The prize was half-off tuition. Shortly after starting beauty school, Edna fell in love and knew she was in the right career. In 2027, Edna would have celebrated 50 years with her cosmetology license. Her legacy is being carried on today and she continues to touch so many lives. Edna will be dearly missed by so many who love her. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mom, Mamaw, GG and Grammie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Ronald Booth and Norman Goelzer. Son, James Ronald Booth, Jr., Grandson, Joshua E. Booth. Brothers: Bobby, Duel, Benny and John. Sisters: Mae Jeans, Lucille Cleaton, Shirley Jeans, Alice Coggin and Faye Parker. Edna is survived by her daughters, Kelly Fox (Dan) and Jill Booth. Grandchildren: Jennifer Booth, James Ronald Booth III, Garrett Deweese (Elizabeth), Kaitlyn Fox, Justin Fox, James Lee (Jennifer) Brinkley, Christopher Brinkley. Great Grandchildren: Kaylie Booth, Kendall Booth, Khloe Booth, Wade Deweese and Maelyn Deweese. Sisters, Joyce Vick, Kay Lilly (William). A Celebration of Life service will be held on August 11, 2026, at 11am in the Chapel at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, NC. Inurnment will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville, NC.
