Dixie Faye Brown Cashion, 83, of Cornelius, NC, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at her home. Born on May 3, 1943, in Charlotte, NC, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence Richard Brown and Mary Anna Pope Brown. Dixie was a proud graduate of North Mecklenburg High School, where she enjoyed playing basketball. Throughout her life, she was known for her strong work ethic, warm personality, and caring spirit. She ran the Bantam Chef in Cornelius and later worked at Davidson College. She was last employed at the Eckerd's Warehouse, where she continued to bring her dedication and kindness to those around her. Dixie's love for her community was evident through her active membership at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius. She played on the church softball league and cherished the fellowship and friendships she made through the church. She was also a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Lake Norman Shrine Club, as well as the Red Hat Society and was an avid square dancer. Dixie had a special gift for caring for others and, over the years, lovingly served as a caregiver for many children. Her nurturing nature, generous heart, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on the lives of countless people. Dixie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Clyde McDonald "Mack" Cashion, her cherished brothers, Thomas and Homer Lee Brown and beloved grandsons, Christopher Issac Cashion and Stephen Jacobsen Cashion. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, remembered by her special friend, Adriano DePina, Jr.; her sons, Boyce L. Cashion (Diane), Jeffrey Scott Cashion (Kristina), and Allen James Cashion; her brother, Lawrence Ray Brown; and her treasured grandchildren, Jeffrey Cashion, Jr., Taylor Cashion, Olivia Cashion, and Cole Cashion. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory. The service will be officiated by Rev. Brittany Morris. Following the memorial, Dixie will be laid to rest in the Mt. Zion Community Cemetery, with a reception in the family life center to follow.
