Mrs. Connie Newton Lipe passed Wednesday October 22, 2025, in the kind care of S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House. Connie was born September 10, 1937, in Mooresville, NC to the late Hoyle and Stella Newton. Connie Married John Marvin Lipe Jr. December 28, 1956. She was preceded by her Husband of 43 ½ years, John, who passed on May 29, 2000. Connie was also proceeded by her brothers Cecil (wife Betty), Vernon, Herman, Bobby (wife Vivian), Richard (wife Betty Jo), her oldest sister Lorene Rash (husband Paul), niece Judy Stonestreet, great niece Carol Stonestreet, and Great Granddaughter Kelsey White. Also preceded by In-Laws Margaret and Marvin Lipe, and sister-in-law Peggy. Survived by Connie, sister Ruby Isehower, sister in laws Joan and Barbara, her children Sandra Dawn Lipe, Todd Lipe, (wife Marsha), Jason Lipe (wife Shanna), Grandchildren Alexandra (husband Timothy, children Hunter and Haylee), Dixie (daughter Daphne), Kamie, Bryce, Maddie, Jonas Cooper, Wendy (husband John, children Kayla, (husband David, children Aubrey and Mason)), Cody, (wife Emily and son Landon), Lexie, Tiffany, (children Carter and Navy), Jeremy, (wife Amber, children Brandon, (son Jasper and Emmett) and William). Connie was also survived by many loved family members and dear friends. Connie graduated from Mooresville Senior High School in 1955. She worked for a few months in the packing department at Mooresville Mills. After marriage, Connie moved to Kannapolis for 3 years and became a housewife during that time. Also, during this time Connie took up quilting and enjoyed her gardening, cooking and time with her neighbors. Sandra was born in Concord on December 26, 1958, and was the first girl born in the neighborhood in 21 years. Connie and John had so many nice neighbors who were proud of finally getting a girl in the neighborhood. In 1959 Connie and John moved back to Mooresville where Todd and Jason were born. Connie worked at Mooresville Little Folks school for 12 years and loved being a preschool teacher. She then worked at LOF in Mooresville for 17 years. Connie worked at The Pines at Davidson for 11 ½ years where she retired as a housekeeper in July 2001. Her Husband John also worked at the Pines in the maintenance dept. Connie was fond of all the residents she cherished so dearly and the friends she worked with. Connie loved her Lord, family, husband, children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Her Grand and Great Grandchildren called her Granny, GG, Grandma and Maw-Maw Connie. Her family called her Connie Mae. She loved to babysit, cook, sew, quilt, garden, yard sales, and cross word puzzles. Connie collected porcelain dolls and figurines, China teacups and saucers, Blue Delft, Depression glass, Japanese dolls including spoons from many states and countries which her family would bring back for her. Connie loved to travel with her family. Connie and John enjoyed camping for over 30 years. Connie was well known for her love of making homemade sour dough bread of many flavors. She enjoyed giving her bread away to many people. Funeral services will be held at Cavin Cook Funeral Home on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Private Family Viewing 9:30a.m.-10:00a.m. Public Viewing 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. Funeral service in the Chapel 11:00a.m. Burial to follow at West Lawn Cemetery, China Grove NC.
