Betty Rhodes Griffin, age 90, of Mooresville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 4, 1936, in Mooresville, Betty lived a life defined by unwavering faith, resilience, compassion, and a deep love for those around her. A graduate of Mooresville High School, Betty was voted "Most Athletic" by her classmates, a reflection of the determination and spirited nature that remained with her throughout her life. She later enjoyed a fulfilling career as a mail carrier on Seabrook Island, South Carolina, where she retired after many years of dedicated service. Betty's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior while attending Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Mooresville at a young age, and her devotion to the Lord never wavered. She found great joy in worshipping at Southside Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and formed many treasured friendships. She was deeply devoted to Al-Anon and Celebrate Recovery, where she found strength in her own journey while offering encouragement, compassion, and hope to others. Above all, Betty cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose strength, determination, and generous heart touched everyone who knew her. She never shied away from a challenge, meeting life's obstacles with courage and grace. When family could not be nearby, her beloved fur babies, Chloe and Cocoa, brought her constant companionship, comfort, and unconditional love. Betty embraced life with enthusiasm, and her kindness, faith, and enduring spirit will be remembered always. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, John Griffin; her son, Mark Griffin; her sister, Harriett Stewart; and her brother, Willis Rhodes. She is survived by her children, Janice Bostick and husband, Mike, Kim Finger, John Curtis Griffin, Jr., Todd Griffin and wife, Dawn, Amy Wear and husband, Kevin; sister, Patricia Culberson and husband, Bedo; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 8 from 1:00-2:00 PM with a celebration of Betty's life following at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Singer and Chaplain Hudson Belk officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Game Plan for Life-Track Ministry, 13415 Reese Blvd W, Huntersville, NC 28078.
