Beatrice Lucille Hofmann, "Bea" age 93, of Mooresville, North Carolina and formerly of White Lake, Michigan, peacefully passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 25, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late John Serra and Giovana M. Serra. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Hofmann Jr., son, Richard G. Hofmann, brothers, John Serra (Joan), Carlo Serra (Jeannie) and Brother-in-law George Shaffer. Bea was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in White Lake, Michigan before relocating to Mooresville, North Carolina where she attended St. Therese Catholic Church. She enjoyed a long career at Ryder Systems, Inc. while raising four children. Athletic throughout her life, she played basketball in her younger years and later excelled in bowling and golf. Over her many blessed years, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends playing board games, doing puzzles, watching football, playing golf, and taking weekend trips to the cottage. She was also lucky enough to be involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were blessed to have her for so many years. Most important to her was her family and she will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by her survivors, daughters, Denise Connolly (Chris), Teresa Gough (Rick) and Vicki Hofmann, Grandchildren, Jenny Purgatori (Rob), Samantha Hess (Brennan), Lauren Connolly, Hailey Gough and Garrett Gough, Great Grandchildren, Margot Purgatori and Massimo Purgatori, sisters, Elaine Shaffer and Linda Wroblewski (Dan) A Celebration of Bea's life will be held by the family at a later date. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff at Cadence Mooresville, M. Mitchell Mack hospice nurses and many friends whose compassionate care, kindness, and support brought comfort to Bea and her family. Their love and dedication will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the M. Mitchell Mack Hospice House of Mooresville, NC. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is proudly serving the Hofmann family.
