Anthony "Tony" Alexander Barberia, 82, of Mooresville, NC, passed away on June 2, 2026, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House, Mooresville. He was born September 26, 1943, in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Alex and Barbara Barberia. Tony proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Niagara University. He enjoyed a successful 40-year career in sales and engineering, beginning at the forefront of the emerging computer industry. His early achievements and continued success were built on a foundation of integrity and a relationship-driven approach to business. Throughout his career, he earned the trust and respect of colleagues, clients, and industry partners through his commitment to honesty, professionalism, and strong connections. Tony and Mary shared a remarkable love story that began more than 60 years ago and blossomed into a beautiful marriage that lasted 58 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, devotion, cherished memories, faith and an unwavering commitment to one another. They were blessed with four daughters, whom they raised with love, guidance, and strong family values. While they treasured many blessings throughout their lives together, their greatest joy was their 14 grandchildren, who brought them immeasurable happiness, pride, and love. Their enduring partnership and dedication to family and friends served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Tony's hobbies were his unparalleled vegetable garden, wood working, being the ultimate handyman, reading, golfing, finding golf balls, creating relationships with strangers, telling stories of his past, playing war with groundhogs, making people smile and especially spending time with his grandkids and making them laugh. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his four daughters, Beth Waterfield, her husband Mark and their children, Emily, Madeline and Alex; Julie Bergert, her husband Tom and their children, Grayson, Dillon and Ben; Missy Johnson, her husband Matt and their children Sam, AJ, Will, Max and Noah; Becky Barberia, her partner Zach Lindgren and her children Trenton, Brady and Mackenzie. Tony is preceded in death by Alex and Barbara Barberia and his in-laws, Urban and Nancy Krippene, and son in-law Scott Webb. A Celebration of Tony's life will be celebrated on Saturday, June 20, 1:00 PM, Storyhill Church, 490 S Main St, Davidson, NC. Gathering follows in the church atrium, 2:00-3:00 PM. Tony's ashes will be spread in his most favorite place, his garden.
