With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ahmad Ty'ree Carlton, (24) who departed this life on June 5, 2026, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Forsyth County, North Carolina surrounded by the love and presence of family and friends Ahmad was born on January 15, 2002, at Wake Forest Hospital in Forsyth County, North Carolina. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, boyfriend, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence brought joy, laughter, and love to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Ahmad graduated from Wilkes Central High School in 2021. During his four years there, he excelled as both a linebacker and running back on the football team and also participated in track and field. His passion for sports reflected his competitive spirit, dedication, and determination. Outside of athletics, Ahmad had many interests that brought him happiness. He enjoyed detailing cars, attending car meets, organizing concerts in the Charlotte area, and spending time with his siblings and friends. He also had a strong interest in gunsmithing. He enjoyed fishing and being out on the boat. Above all else, Ahmad cherished the people in his life and never missed an opportunity to make others laugh. Ahmad leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Sherry Ferguson of Mooresville, North Carolina; his beloved girlfriend, Nicole Lowery of Mooresville, North Carolina; brothers Jakwan Carlton, Malik Ferguson, Mykell Ferguson, and Kamron Carlton, sisters Zoie Carlton of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Isabella Hartley of Boomer, North Carolina; grandmother Terry Vannoy of Mooresville, North Carolina; grandfather Joseph Ferguson of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina; grandmother Elizabeth Turrill of Ontario, Canada; grandparents Clyde and Anne Litford of Ferguson, North Carolina; great-grandmother Brenda Ferguson of Mooresville, North Carolina and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends, and many "brothers from other mothers" whom he loved dearly. Ahmad was preceded in death by his father, Mario Demond Carlton; great-grandfather Rudolph Ferguson; great grandmother Virginia Vannoy & great-grandfather Robert Vannoy. Although Ahmad's life was far too short, his impact on those around him was immeasurable. His strength, humor, loyalty, and love will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him. While we grieve the loss of his physical presence, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the love that will never fade. Ahmad was a loving soul who will forever be missed.
