Olajuwon "Won" Charles Sledge, 35, of Kannapolis, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2022. He was born on July 12, 1986 in Selma, AL to Neva Sledge and the late Charles King. He was a graduate from Henninger High School in Syracuse, NY. Olajuwon was a Alabama Crimson Tide fan through and through. He loved his children and his family and he will be deeply missed by all. Olajuwon leaves to cherish his memory his loving mom, Neva Sledge; children, Olajuwon Sledge, Jr., Olajahnae Sledge, and Jonas Grant; brother, Amr Sledge, Sr. (LaTonya); sister, Ameenah Sledge; grandparents, Ollie B. Gay, Mary Walker (Harrison), step-grandmother, Thelma Sledge; special nephews, Ahsan Neilan and Amr Sledge, Jr.; and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 3:00 - 4:00pm at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, NC. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 4:00pm with Pastor Eddie Karriker officiating.
