Zachary Paul Greene was born in Charlotte NC on April 10, 1981. He grew up in Mooresville NC and attended Mooresville Graded School District, graduating in 1999. He attended Queens College where he graduated with degrees in Communication, Journalism and English with a secondary in Education. He taught Honors English and coached football and wrestling at a Title I school in Rowan County. Most recently, he managed River Village Stables and trained horses for clients around the foothills area of NC. He was also employed with Innovative Glass in Dallas NC. Zach was a lover of horses and worked magic with those who had been ill trained. He had developed his knowledge of equine nutrition and natural supplements to a fine art. His horse Breeze will miss their frequent rides and barn time with his buddy. He was a die hard Patriots, Notre Dame and Red Sox fan even when the teams were painfully bad. The Minute Man on the Pats logo sealed the deal for Pats fandom because Zach loved Revolutionary War history. If he could have chosen a time in history to live, his choice would have been around 1776 as an Aide de Camp for General George Washington. Zach loved art, poetry, classic literature, craftsmanship in any form, stonework, smoking pork shoulders (his BBQ was the best) and a good backyard fire pit. He loved the country of Ireland and traveled there to study abroad while at Queens. Zach was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Alma Watts and Peggy Cooke. He is survived by his daughters, Katherine Anne and Leah Kennedy Greene who he loved beyond measure. He was certain the sun rose and set in their eyes. He is also survived by Kristen Biggio Peterson, the love of his life, his twin brother Court Greene (Kristi) and nephew Gideon, his parents Debby Watts (Parry Currier) and Paul Greene (Jennifer), his Border Collie Hera, his sidekick and buddy, Breeze and a huge extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who have supported him through more than a few difficult times. Visitation will be held at 2:30 pm and Funeral Mass at 4 pm on Sunday July 7th at Heritage House, Mooresville NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Harmony Farm Animal Haven, PO Box 734 Faith NC 28041 or The Alzheimer's Association of Iredell County in memory of his “Maw Maw” Alma Watts, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
