William Delmand Nagel "Bill", 88, of Terrell, NC formerly of Elmira, NY passed away On Monday, December 16th, 2024. He was a graduate of Villanova University with a degree in Engineering and received his MBA from Syracuse University while working for General Electric. He spent over 30 years of his career with General Electric Corporation in both the Syracuse area and Hickory, NC. He was able travel the world while being with GE and was able to share those experiences with his wife of 63 ½ years. He was a partner in St Barts Yachts based in Charleston, SC for many years. He was also involved in various development and hotel projects based in Hickory, NC. Although he technically retired early, he never truly retired. Being involved in many business ventures was his entertainment. He was an avid hunter and loved the game of golf. He enjoyed spending time boating with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a lover of animals, especially dogs. There never seemed to be a time he did not have one on this lap or at his heals. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church since 1998, he was also a member of the Golden Boys and the Catawbans, both men's groups which he enjoyed going to their breakfasts and activities. He was a former member of the Elfin Society through General Electric. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Nagel and Elvira Marie Nagel of Elmira, NY and nephew LTC (retired) Joseph Robert Nagel. He is survived by his wife Barbara June Nagel of Terrell, NC; daughter Lisa Flynn (Jim) of Huntersville, NC; son John Nagel of Charlotte; grandchildren Jessica Flynn and Ian Flynn both of Charlotte, NC; brother BG (retired) Joseph Nagel of Fayetteville, NC; brother David Nagel of Rochester, NY; niece Melanie Monchick (Randy) of Cary, NC, nephew Jeff (Beth) Nagel of Rochester, NY and Kristen (Scott) St. Joseph of Watertown, NY. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 20 from 1:00-2:00 PM with a Mass following at 2:00 PM at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville.
