In Loving Memory of Wallace Lamar Hill II September 22, 1944 - October 2, 2023 Wallace Lamar Hill II, known affectionately as Wally, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, at the age of 79. Surrounded by his loved ones, Wally's journey in this world came to a gentle close in Denver, North Carolina. Born on September 22, 1944, in Miami, Florida, Wally was the cherished son of the late Wallace Lamar Hill and Ione Johnson Hill. He grew up in a loving household, instilled with values that shaped his character and guided him throughout his life. Wally was a man of great intellect, earning a Master's Degree after graduating from Appalachian State University. He carved a successful career path as a financial planner in the insurance and finance industry, becoming the esteemed owner of Second Wind Finance in Charlotte. Wally's dedication and expertise gained him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional achievements, Wally had a deep appreciation for history, often immersing himself in literature that shed light on the various epochs and events that shaped our world. The Bible held a special place in his heart, as he found solace and guidance within its sacred pages. In his leisure time, Wally sought solace in the embrace of nature. He was an avid outdoorsman, finding joy in hunting and fishing. Exploring the wonders of the natural world allowed him to reconnect with the simplicity and beauty that surrounded him. Wally's adventurous spirit also led him to travel, immersing himself in diverse cultures and broadening his perspective on life's possibilities. Above all else, Wally held his family dear to his heart. His love for his wife, Lynn Powell Hill, was unwavering and unconditional. Their partnership was built on a foundation of trust, support, and shared dreams. Wally also treasured his relationship with his son, Chip Hill, who brought immense pride and joy to his life. Their bond was unbreakable, a testament to the special connection they shared. Though Wally's passing brings sorrow to those who knew and loved him, his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his surviving family members. In addition to his wife, Lynn; son, Chip Hill and daughter-in-law, Pam Hill, Wally is survived by his brother, Stephen Hill of Clover, South Carolina, and his step-grandson, James Tarleton. He was preceded in death by step-daughter, Tracy Baldwin. A service to Celebrate his life will be held on Saturday November 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home at 494 E. Plaza Drive, Mooresville, North Carolina 28115.
