Victor Alexander Agnello, MD (March 31, 1964 - June 1, 2014) Dr Victor A. Agnello, beloved husband, father, brother, and physician, lost his battle to complications of leukemia on Sunday, June 1st, at age 50. He was the founder and CEO of Allergy & Asthma Center of Lake Norman. The son of an USAF Officer, Dr Agnello was born on March 31, 1964, in Grand Forks, ND and lived in many countries throughout his childhood. His father, Col Anthony Agnello, retired and settled down in Fairfield, California where Victor graduated from Fairfield High School in 1981. He then hit the road as a drummer for the heavy metal band, Laaz Rockit for the next 7 years including 4 world tours. They recorded 5 albums and one full length DVD, â€œFire in the Holeâ€, which was shown on the MTV Headbangerâ€™s Ball. In 2009, Dr Agnello joined as Laaz Rockit reunited to open for Metalicaâ€™s Reunion Tour in Japan. Dr Agnelloâ€™s avid interest in music and particularly drums continued throughout his life and he had begun passing the skill on to his daughters. Along the way, Dr Agnello decided to pursue a career in medicine. Not afraid of hard work, he also worked as a foreman for a lath and plaster construction company to help pay bills while attending college at University California in Davis. There he graduated with high honors in 1993. He attended medical school at George Washington University in Washington D.C. earning his medical degree in 1997. Dr Agnello was accepted into the military Internal Medicine Residency program studying at Walter Reed Army Medical Center graduating in 1998. While in his residency, he made two life changing decisions. He met and married Emily Richard of Cullman AL in 1999 and he decided to pursue a postgraduate fellowship in Allergy-Immunology graduating in 2002. Their first two daughters, Mya and Lauren were born while he completed his residency and fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He was a board certified physician in both Internal Medicine and Allergy & Immunology. Continuing his active duty Army career, now Major Agnello and his family transferred to Fort Campbell KY as Chief of the Allergy-Immunology Clinic at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital from 2002 â€" 2006. While at Fort Campbell, daughters Rachael and Elaina were born. During that assignment, Major Agnello also deployed as Battalion Surgeon for the 2/327th of the 101st Airborne Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Kuwait and Iraq. He was awarded the Meritorious Service and 2 Army Commendation Medals. He resigned his commission from the Army in 2006 and moved his growing family to Lake Norman area of North Carolina where he and Emily added Anna, Maria, and Brooklynn to the crowd while opening his private practice. Dr Agnello was preceded in death by his parents, retired USAF Col Anthony Agnello and Ernelieb (Sherry) Elsasser Agnello. In addition to his wife, Emily, and seven daughters, Dr Agnello is survived by his sisters, Marina Agnello of Napa, CA, and Angela Miller-Dickson (Richard), and son James (Victorâ€™s Godson), of Portland OR; his Uncles Mario and George Agnello, his Aunt Sarah Agnello, his mother-in-law, Mrs JoAnn Richard and a host of Emilyâ€™s siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will be receiving friends from 5 â€" 8 PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Friday, June 6, 2014, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville.
