Tonya Grilliot Campbell, formerly of Kannapolis, North Carolina, and most recently of Statesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2026. She was born on December 28, 1970 in Ohio, to the late Edgar "Ed" and Patricia Miller Grilliot. Tonya was known for her beautiful smile, compassionate heart, and the genuine love she showed to everyone she met. She never met a stranger and had a special gift for making people feel welcome. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, creating lasting memories, and sharing laughter with those she loved. She also had a deep love for animals and cared for them with tenderness and compassion throughout her life. Her gentle spirit and caring nature touched the lives of both people and animals alike. Tonya was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chad Campbell, and her parents, Lowell "Ed" Grilliot and Patricia "Pat" Grilliot. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Samantha Grilliot; her precious granddaughter, Serenity Grilliot; her sister, Lisa Rollings and husband, Greg; her brother, Eddie Grilliot and wife, Kerri; her brother, Lenny Grilliot and wife, Tonya; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, treasured friends, and all who were blessed to know and love her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Mooresville Church of God. The Reverends Donald Wise and Brandon Moore will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Easterseals in Tonya's memory. While our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice in knowing that Tonya is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, reunited with those who have gone before her. Her legacy of love, kindness, compassion, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
