Celebrating the Life of Teresa Anne Shoaf Teresa Anne Shoaf passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the age of 66. She was born on February 13, 1960, in Claremont, North Carolina. She earned an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Technology at Caldwell Community College in 1992. She was the absolute heart and soul of our family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and beautiful memories. A true lover of life's simple pleasures, Teresa A. Shoaf was happiest with her toes in the sand and the sound of the ocean waves in the background. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where she found endless peace and joy. Music was the soundtrack of her life; whether she was singing along to her favorite tunes on her many travels or listening to a local band in town, her vibrant spirit lifted everyone around her. She was an enthusiastic painter and loved sharing her artwork with her family. As an avid learner and book worm she accumulated a collection of special material that traveled with her. Above all else, Teresa A. Shoaf was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished every single moment spent with her family. She turned ordinary days into special memories and taught us that love is the greatest gift of all. Her steady guidance, quiet strength, and fierce loyalty will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She is survived by her daughters, Heather N. McKinney (James McKinney IV), Deanna M. Baun (Cory Baun), and Aleshia R. Shoaf; grandchildren, James McKinney V, Madison McKinney, Jamie-Anne McKinney, Joshua McKinney, Naomi McLaurin, and Anthony Baun; and her sister, Tammy A. McCreary. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifton A. Turner; mother, Fannie M. Aldridge; and brother, Tony Turner. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, NC. In honor of her love for the ocean, the family requests that attendees wear bright, coastal colors.
