Sharon Wilson

Linda "Sharon" Parker Wilson peacefully went to her eternal home on December 8, 2025, after a brief, courageous, and aggressive battle with illness. Surrounded by her loving family, she left this earthly life with grace and peace. Born on July 13, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, Sharon's family soon returned to their roots in Mooresville. She grew up in a close-knit community and attended Mooresville Senior High School, where she met the love of her life, Norman Elmer Wilson, Jr., affectionately known as "Willie." They were married on February 8, 1958, and together they embarked on countless adventures as a United States Air Force family before returning to Mooresville to lay down roots. Sharon was a uniquely giving and selfless person, whether you were a stranger, a friend, or family. She loved anyone she met completely and deeply. She always found the good in everyone and everything. Her life revolved around her family, her church, and her friends. For 15 years, Sharon worked at Dr. Robert Gray, Sr.'s dental practice, forming lifelong bonds with coworkers and patients. She remained close ties with her co-workers for several decades. Through Norman's involvement in the district level of the Civitan Club, they created lasting friendships and cherished memories of trips and gatherings. Sharon's heart belonged in service to her church, Broad Street Methodist Church in Mooresville, where she was a lifelong member and an anchor for the Bereavement Committee. Her involvement in the Ladies Circle #3 and nearly every committee reflected her unwavering dedication and love for her community. Sharon formed bonds with church members that evolved to be more like family than friends. Above all, Sharon's greatest joy was her family. Whether gathered around the dinner table, enjoying games, embarking on adventures, or playing in the pool, Sharon was truly the center and heart of her family. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 67 years, her grandson Brice Rumage, and her daughter-in-law Kym Wilson. Left to live out her legacy of love and kindness are her son, Larry Wilson of Carolina Beach, daughters Cindy Crone (John) and Amy Edwards (Mark) of Mooresville, her granddaughters Erin Maynard (Scott), Kelly Anton (Jonathan), Kimberly Huntley (Trey), Julie Watson (Michael), and Kara Spiece (Nolan), and her 8 great-grandchildren, Laurel Dye, Noah Maynard, Hudson Dye, Ronan Dye, Leila Watson, Logan Huntley, Ivy Spiece, and Sage Watson. Though this last battle was short and merciful, she fought with determination and dignity to remain with her loving family. In the end, she accepted God's plan to join Papa and her other loved ones to live with Jesus for eternity with the grace in which she lived her life. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 12 from 1:00-2:00 PM with a service following at 2:00 PM at Broad Street Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Sowell and George Wilson officiating.
