Sandra Jean Boyce Diehl (Sandy), 87, passed away on September 23, 2025 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family. Sandy was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 27, 1938 to Mr. and Mrs. Ibsen F. Boyce. She is proceeded in death by her former husband Donald Diehl, Sr; parents Ibsen F. Boyce and Julia Forcey (nee Walters); step-parents, Betty Boyce and Walter Forcey; brother Ibsen (Buzzy) Boyce, Jr and sister Cheryl Anne Boyce. Surviving to cherish her memories, are son Donald Diehl, Jr (Annie), daughters Debra Shoefelt (Michael-deceased), Diane Diehl (Calvin), and Denise Marcus (Robert); 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Brenda Bolfing (Charles-deceased) and Beverly Terry (Robert); numerous nephews and nieces; and many wonderful friends. When Sandy and her family relocated to Wyoming, she worked at the University. In Charlotte, she spent many years at Touche Ross and Tinsley & Terry. During her years in Houston, she worked for IBM and BP Amoco. In all of her professional roles, she was known for her work ethic, kindness and dedication, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she worked alongside. Sandy's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her faith, the way she made everyone feel special with personalized handmade birthday and Christmas cards, and the countless number of crocheted afghans and baby blankets she made for family, friends, and acquaintances. Sandy enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren playing games and watching movies. She will be always loved and never forgotten. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 26th in the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Chaplain Nicole Fitzpatrick officiating. Our family would like to thank all of the incredible people at the Carolina Caring Hospice organization for their excellent care of our mother for the past two years.
