Pauline Reardon, of Mooresville NC, passed peacefully on January 15 at home with her husband, David Reardon and daughter, Deb Colson. It's time to celebrate one of a kind! Pauline was always ready to meet new people, laugh hard and celebrate anything. She was magnetic and beautiful, with a strong personality. Celebrate across the pond: She loved to return home and take on all the sites, tour castles, visit family and of course, play darts at the British Pubs. Survived by brothers, George Hope (wife Pat), Barry Hope (wife Traci) and sister Beverly Hope along with many nephews & nieces. She has beautiful memories of the fish and chips, driving on the "correct" side of the road and family gatherings. For all the Brits (as she would say), please grab a pint, tell stories and share a laugh as you celebrate her life. Celebrate in Buffalo: A true Buffalo Bills fan. Pauline made the most amazing friends at Lederhosen Ski Club and was always up for a softball game, hitting the slopes, riding around Grand Island on a bike or going to any outing this crazy crew could come up with. If you were a part of slope note, prior to the digital age - she would host that mayhem each month even though it stressed her out and she had to print the entire monthly newsletter on an old school press. Think there is still ink all over that basement. If you were a part of this crowd - she cherished all of you and often laughed at the madness you all got into. So, for the Buffalo gang, grab some wings, cheer on the Bills and toast to her. She would love to know that Buffalo had the best happy hour in her honor. Side note: if anyone has good contacts, please ask the Bills to win this one in her honor. They won for her on Monday, the day she left!! Celebrate in Rock Hill: Pauline and Dave's southern paradise. Friends and neighbors certainly showed up when they decided to leave the arctic weather and seek the sunshine. So many days on the lake, camping in Barnard (their camper) at Ebenezer Park, and weeks at the beach. Who could have asked for more? If you were lucky enough to meet Pauline here, head to the lake, a local bar (like Lukes), or to the porch (it will be warm enough). Grab a cocktail and have a toast to the crazy British lady that moved into SC. Ceremony: A plan will be formed soon for a memorial service in Buffalo, NY where we will spread her ashes and gather with friends and family. Living On: Pauline will donate her brain to research Dementia & Akathisia. This selfless gift will create a legacy in science for her. A beacon of hope for those suffering from movement related neurological diseases. Pauline could be a part of the puzzle that may result in less suffering, a better understanding, and one day a cure. Finally: Thank you to anyone who ever cared for another human. Whether it is listening to a friend when they can't stop crying, as a healthcare aid who walked 10 miles a day with mom, the guys that keep Dave company over a beer, dropping off food, those who travel to homes to give patients baths, anyone that works for hospice (bless you), if you sent a text for support even when you didn't know what to say, or if you step up and move in to help your us when we need it more than we even knew.
