Patricia Ann Richie Faulk, 89, was born, Middle Town, NY, grew up in Pine Bush, and Gardiner, NY, then moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, later died in Huntersville NC, on May 6, 2026. She was the strongest person many of us have ever known. Throughout her life, regardless of what she had to confront, she stood strong, powerful, and intelligent. She held steadfast resilience, navigating life's challenges and hardships with grace. With an indomitable spirit, she endured difficulties yet always found ways to share laughter with those she loved. My mom possessed a love, strength, and intelligence that no one could ever take from her. She held her power while embracing her West Indian, Iberian, and Eastern Mediterranean heritage with pride. My mom passed in the same way she lived: unconquered. In her final years, she was subjected to abuse and neglect at a long-term care facility, yet she refused to let them break her spirit or dictate who she was. She would not submit to their terrifying, sometimes threatening, but dominating controls, nor would she allow them to strip her of her dignity. Instead, she met their failure with her own unwavering integrity, remaining the powerful, intelligent, and loving woman, she had always been. Her light could not be dimmed by the darkness around her; her heart remained giving, her intellect undiminished, and her ability to find humor and share laughter with us stayed intact until the very end. My precious mom now stands with us in the world beyond as a guiding intelligence, holding love as power expressed through compassion and selfless giving. Her presence will always shine with a joyful light. Her spirit remains powerful, able to find humor even during the toughest hardships, and always finding ways to share laughter with us.
