Michael Wayne Cascaddon, 52, of Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at his residence. Born July 30, 1963, in Iredell County, he is the son of Hubert Lee Cascaddon, of Mooresville and the late Mary Ann Laws Cascaddon. We are all saddened today. Our Big Brother of Mooresville has passed away. The Force has lost a warrior today, so you must keep your head held high, carry the sword and march on. To make it to Heaven, you must be born again!!! He was a member of Cooleemee Church of God. He participated and assisted with the Special Olympics. Michael was an avid Star Wars fans, enjoyed WWE Wrestling, hat collecting, die cast cars and trucks, music (especially Tim McGraw) and his M & M collection. Michael enjoyed woodworking. In addition to his father, Michael is survived by his sister, "Big Sis", Susie Smith Durham (Bishop Dennis G. Durham), of Mooresville; special cousins, Lanny (Dorothy) Laws, Petoskey, MI, Gail (Aaron) Lee, Brownstown, MI, Donna (John) Martin, Hampstead, NC, Mary (Mel) Daniels, Canton, MI, Lisa (Ralph) Whitman, Leland, NC and Cathy Rogers, of Mocksville, NC; special great aunt, Eva Nicholson, Statesville, NC; uncle, Ed (Linda) Laws, of Cleveland, SC and his special furry friends, Chester and Snowball. A special thank you to all my caregivers, Maurica Roemer, RN, Mary Ryneer, SW, Dr. Tarun K. Narang, Dr. Jonathan Salo, Sue Rucho, Meredith Byrne, Dr. Richard Krumdieck, Christina Dodge, RN, Nurse Melissa, (his girlfriend) and one special nurse at Carolina’s Medical Center. You will know who you are. You were his Angel. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel, Mooresville, with Rev. John Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM, Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Lanny Laws, Aaron Lee, Donald William Smith, Jr., William Shinn, Robby Bourgeois and Jonathan Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Bishop Dennis Durham and John Martin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cooleemee Church of God, P.O. Box 86, Cooleemee, NC 27014. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the family of Mr. Cascaddon.
