Michael Warrick Privott, 66, of Mooresville, NC, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 2, 2026, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Michael was born on January 27, 1960, in Goldsboro, NC. After attending Goldsboro High School, Michael graduated from Guilford College with a degree in Physics. A member of First Baptist Church of Mooresville, Michael delighted in serving on mission trips mentoring youth and repairing homes across the United States. Michael will be remembered as a problem solver, always willing to put in the effort to restore and repair through hard, intentional work. In later years, Michael enjoyed attending Rocky Mount Church, where he served in the cafe and volunteered for the annual car show. Michael was a woodturner who spent many hours in his workshop, often teaching his children, turning bowls and ornaments, and valuing the patience, care, and wonder of working with wood. Having worked at Cotton Incorporated, Michael went on to start his own software development company, Techware Inc., in 1991, where he found the same satisfaction in creating solutions to complex problems for the textile industry. Michael also spent his time outside gardening, swimming in the lake, taking boat rides and morning walks with his wife, MaryClair. Michael believed in the lasting value of friendship. He treasured the encouraging messages, visits, and continued support from the Goldsboro boys and the R.T. fellows. Michael leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by his wife of 38 years, MaryClair; his children, Georgia and Noah (Luzanne); his siblings, Edie Jeziorski of Acworth, GA, Jenny Bunn (Kevin) of Fayetteville, NC, and Allan Privott (Michele) of Mooresville, NC; along with 12 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews, who all adored him. Michael is preceded by his parents, Mack and Emily Privott, and his brother Ben Privott. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the hospice workers, doctors, neighbors, and community members for the unwavering support and compassion that was given during this time. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visitation on August 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Mooresville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House of Iredell County or the mission program at First Baptist Church of Mooresville.
