Louise Thrower Sherrill (November 9, 1929 - February 2, 2015) Edna Louise Thrower "Mimi" Sherrill, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015 at her home. She was born on November 9, 1929, to the late John and Fanny Thrower of Belmont, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Bill and Bob Thrower; three sisters, Ann Paysour, Maggie Painter, and Frances Stubbs. Louise was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Louise and Joe were faithful members of Rehobeth United Methodist Church in Terrell. She was happiest when surrounded by her husband and family. She was the center of a loving Christian home and made sure that her husband and family always came first. Her children and grandchildren have countless memories of the special things she would do for each of them, from clothes and costumes she made to special cakes to money "just because". Her quiet faith was reflected in everything she did and she truly took everything to the Lord in prayer. Her family will best remember her sweet spirit and beautiful smile, which reflected the joy and peace in her soul. Louise is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joe; three daughters, Linda Thompson (Larry) and Lura Stokes (Randy) of Charlotte; Judy Sigmon (David) of Denver; seven grandchildren, Brian Sigmon (Amy) of Nashville, TN, Joe Sigmon (Maria) of Catawba, Chet Sigmon of Denver, Brett Thompson of Charlotte, Jordan, Paige, and Katie Stokes of Charlotte; and one great grandson, Caleb Sigmon of Nashville, TN; sister, Carolyn Jackson, brother, Henry Thrower; sister-in-law, Evelyn Greene; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 4 at Rehobeth United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Robert Kerr officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30-3:00 PM at the church. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Home Instead of Statesville and the many compassionate caregivers who have served Louise and her family over the past two years.
