Mrs. Louise Oden Graham, 91, of Mooresville, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at her home following a two year diagnosis of multiple myeloma. Louise was born on September 20, 1925 in Hatteras, NC. She was the daughter of the late Dan Queen and Alice Gray Peele Oden. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Carlos Oden and Donald Oden and sisters, Selma Hershman, and Melba Eure. After graduating from Louisburg College, Louise attended East Carolina Teachers College. She was married 69 years to her loving husband, John Robert Graham, Sr. on December 21, 1947 who survives her in death. She worked at the Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill, NC before starting a family of five children and six grandchildren. Louise was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother that loved her family, her church, her community and friends and served them all faithfully during her lifetime. She was a wonderful homemaker and volunteer. She especially enjoyed traveling the world. As a devout Christian woman, Louise was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and loved her Sunday school class. The Lake Norman Seedlings was the focus of her community involvement. In addition to her husband, Louise is survived by her sons, John Robert Graham, Jr., Richard Eugene Graham, Charles Edward Graham and wife, Debbie of Mooresville, David Lynn Graham of Hickory and daughter, Emily Graham Lutz and husband, John of Forest City; grandchildren, Kristen McKenzie Graham and Carly McCrea Graham of Mooresville, David Clark Graham of Hickory, Jonathan Lane Lutz, Hunter Graham Lutz and Jack Holden Lutz of Forest City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Dr. Brad Harrison and Rev. Dr. Robert Jackson officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the service in Glenwood Memorial Park.
