Mrs. Kelly Ferguson Reitzel of Mount Pleasant NC went to be with the lord unexpectedly at the age of 60 on Thursday, June 29, 2023, in North Myrtle Beach, SC at the family beach house. She was born in Gastonia, NC on March 3rd, 1963, to the late John "Wayne" Ferguson and Opal Sigmon Ferguson. She was a graduate of Ashbrook High School, Class of 1980, and was a wonderful wife, loving mother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many and lived for her two boys Alan & Chris. Kelly was an avid lifelong NASCAR race fan as member of the Dale Jr Nation and a loyal fan to the famed #21 car for Wood Brothers Racing; a Mustang enthusiast who loved taking rides with the top down in her convertible. She loved her family, her fur babies, and the beach where she loved to spend her time laying in the sun and was a social butterfly who could always find someone to socialize with. When she wasn't able to enjoy the sun or the beach, she loved to binge watch NCIS and old game shows. Even though Kelly was taken too soon, she lived an extraordinary life on her terms and to the fullest, surrounded by family, friends, and her fur babies, especially her dog Joe, who all adored her. She will be greatly missed by many. Those left behind to cherish her memories are her husband of 38 years, Christopher Reitzel, their son Alan Reitzel, her three fur babies, a sister Rhonda Ferguson Auten and husband Greg, nephew Bryan Lutz, niece Allison Lutz Hinson and husband Steven, six great-nephews, an aunt-in-law Judy Reitzel Eason, mother-in-law Barbara Reitzel, brother-in-law Raymond Reitzel and wife Donna, sister-in-law Sonya Schuermann and husband Norbert, along with extended family members and many dear friends. Kelly was preceded in death by her loving parents, and a nephew, Christopher Shaun Lutz. A gathering to celebrate Kelly's life will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm on Thursday, July, 6, 2023, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville. The family requests that everyone dress in casual attire.
