Kathryn â€œKittyâ€ Patrick Rogers (March 28, 1942 - August 24, 2014) Kathryn â€œKittyâ€ Patrick Rogers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family, Sunday August 24, 2014 at her home. Kitty was born March 28, 1942, in Rankin County Mississippi. She is the daughter of the late Wayne and Katie Mae Patrick. Kitty was a Valedictorian graduate of Pelahatchie High School, and she received a B.S. degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. A dedicated teacher and after-school program administrator/coordinator, she retired from Mooresville Graded School District after 22 years of service. A loving mother and devoted wife, Kitty was also an avid reader who loved cross-word puzzles and to read books to her grandchildren. As a deacon and an active participant in the Pastorâ€™s Sunday School Class at First Presbyterian Church of Mooresville, North Carolina, she loved to serve and worship her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Throughout three valiant battles with breast cancer, she continuously exhibited grace and an unwavering faith in Godâ€™s plan for good for her and her family, and was fueled by the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters. Married for 48 years, she is survived by her husband, Bryant K. (Pat) Rogers, and her children: son Bryant K. (Patrick) Rogers, Jr., and his wife Betsy from Marietta, Georgia; daughter Virginia â€œGinnyâ€ Rogers Patterson and her husband Chuck of Mechanicsville, Virginia; seven grandchildren - Mary Katherine Rogers, Joshua Rogers Patterson, Caroline Elizabeth Rogers, Samuel Bryant Patterson, Bryant K. â€œPatrickâ€ Rogers, III, Elizabeth Maclaren Patterson, and Peyton Oâ€™Neil Rogers; and siblings Wallace Patrick of Pelahatchie, Mississippi; Billie Nelle Roberts of Gulfport, Mississippi; John Patrick of Pelahatchie, Mississippi; and Cindy Boling of Woodbridge, Virginia, and many nieces and nephews and their families whom she dearly loved. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, August 28, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church, Mooresville, with Rev. David Rockness officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
