Johnny Wingler, the man who could fix anything and grow the most beautiful roses, has finally put down his tools and gardening gloves for the last time on May 10, 2024. Johnny's life was a colorful tapestry woven with threads of hard work, laughter, and love. As an Equipment Technician in the cotton processing industry, he spent his days ensuring everything ran smoothly, much like he did with the people around him. A proud US Marine and Vietnam Veteran, Johnny served his country with honor, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. An avid flower gardener and cooking enthusiast, Johnny had a green thumb that made even professional horticulturists green with envy. His garden was a riot of colors and fragrances, much like his kitchen where delicious aromas wafted through the air. His culinary creations were as delightful as his company, whether it was a simple family dinner or a grand feast. Johnny's greatest joy came from being surrounded by family and friends. He was a great listener, always ready with a hearty laugh and a warm smile. His home was a haven of happiness, where stories were shared, and memories were made. He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Shirley, his parents Blain and Sarah, his sister Darleen Hudson, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Johnny and Ruby Lowery, his brother-in-law Johnny Lowery Jr, and his brother-in-law James Zalascek. Left to cherish his memory are his sons John Wingler and Michael Wingler (wife Katie, two grandchildren Jacob and Lucille), his brother Ernie Wingler and wife Linda, his sister Pam Caster and husband Terry, his sister Marleen Wingler, his brother-in-law Martin Hudson, his brother-in-law Grover Lowery and wife Cindy, his sister-in-law Reba Lowery, his sister-in-law Alice Faye Zalascek, his sister-in-law Kaye Long, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Let's honor Johnny by sharing a laugh, tending to our gardens, and cooking up something special in the kitchen. Rest in peace, Johnny-your legacy of love and laughter lives on. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville, NC on June 15 at 11:00 AM.
