Jeffrey Lynn Richardson, 67, of Mooresville, North Carolina, passed away on January 26, 2023. He was born on February 26, 1955 in Lenoir, NC to the late David and Betty Richardson. Jeff was a wonderful, Christian man who was very devoted to his church, Fair View United Methodist, where he was a member for more than 40 years. He served the church in many different capacities, most recently as serving as church council chair, lay delegate to the conference, choir member and Sunday school teacher. Jeff was very respected and well known in his field and career. He worked as a mechanical engineer with Duke Energy fulltime for 35 years and 8 years as a consultant. His work was nationally recognized and in 2022, he was inducted into the North Carolina State University Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Alumni Hall of Fame. Most of all, Jeff was a loving husband, devoted and proud father and an amazing G-daddy. He loved every moment he was able to spend with his family. To them, he was the most incredible man who ever lived and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Melia Richardson; children, Emily Selfridge (Steve) and Jeffrey Richardson, Jr (Kristi); grandchildren, Ella Claire Goins, Benny R. Goins, III, Katherine and Luke Selfridge; and his beloved furbaby, Mollie. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1:00pm at Fair View United Methodist, Mooresville, NC. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for there to be memorial contributions made to the Thurman L.
