Jamie Lou Weems, age 49 of Huntersville, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on February 26th, 2023. She is survived by her husband Timothy Weems who lost his sweet "princess". A beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, she was greatly loved by all who knew her. Jamie's great joy in life was being a mother and grandmother otherwise known as GiGi. She always said that being a mother to Christian is what got her through so many challenging circumstances. When she had the chance to be a GiGi her heart just exploded with love and joy. Tayven was able to put a huge smile on Jamie's face with just the mention of her name. Jamie's smile could light up a room. She had a passion for supporting and helping others in need, especially those who were moving through tough times. Having been there herself, she had great empathy and intimate knowledge of the challenges many of us face in life. Jamie's dream was to write a book sharing her life story with the desire to offer hope to those who are lost and feel alone. Understanding what it felt like to be in those broken places, she dreamed of being the light to those who were suffering and lost. One of Jamie's most precious gifts was her gift of song. She had the voice of an angel. In her early years she loved to perform in musicals. With her amazing voice and charismatic presence, she would light up the stage. In more recent years, Jamie's greater joy was to use her gift to worship and praise God. We have the assurance and comfort that Jamie is now in her heavenly home, at peace, full of joy and worshiping at the feet of Jesus. We are all very sad to have lost this gifted loving woman with a head for numbers, a great ability to write, spell (a much needed gift in this family), and express herself so beautifully with the written word. Many of us have had the privilege of receiving a very sincere outpouring of her heart in the form of a letter, poem or song. Jamie's legacy is a woman of great love, fiery passion (goes along with that red hair!), a heart for others, and her musical gifts. Her light on this earth was extinguished far too soon for those who love her. Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 18 at the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
