Gerald "Jerry" "JD" Paul Doyle II, 76, of Mooresville, NC, formerly of Midland, MI went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was born on August 29, 1946 in Lafayette, IN, to the late Kenneth and Helen Gagen Doyle. Jerry served as an officer in the Army, honorably discharged as a captain, doing two tours in Vietnam after being stationed in multiple locations, notably Okinawa, Japan. He worked for Dow Chemical for over 31 years and retired as a VP and GM of the Global Methylcell Division. Jerry loved being with his wife Hedy, traveling, and enjoying time with family and good friends. He was a Purdue graduate ('73) and devout Boilermaker. BOILER UP! He was an avid golfer and reader, enjoyed watching any Purdue sport, Nascar and IndyCar racing. He loved talking politics and business with anyone who would listen, smoking a quality cigar and having a nice cocktail, beer, or glass of wine in the evening. He treasured time talking with and teaching his kids and grandkids the lessons of life. Always up for adventure, he cherished driving his Corvette and boat/Sea Doo. He was a man of faith and was very involved with the St. Therese Catholic Parish in Mooresville. He was very much about giving back by volunteering in various organizations. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Parish, MOST, John Purdue Club, Golden Boys Mens Club, The Point Lake and Golf Club, and Trump National Golf Club. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Hedy; sons, Kenny (Jen) Doyle of Ladera Ranch, CA, Kevin (Heather) Doyle of Woodbury, MN, Eric (Claudette) Doyle of Floyds Knobs, IN; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Brandon, Gerald Paul III (Trey), Gavin, Zach, Ryan, Garrett, Andrew; brothers, Jim, David, Pat; sister, Debi; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville, NC.
