Franklin Dewitt Carver, affectionately known as "Frank," age 89, of Sherrills Ford, NC, and a former resident of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, at his home, surrounded by cherished friends and dedicated caregivers. Born on August 31, 1936, in Mooresville, NC, Frank was the beloved son of the late Floyd Carver and Carrie Ingle Carver. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy veteran aboard the USS Brush. After his military service, Frank had a fulfilling career with Duke Power and later retired from Freightliner Trucks. A devoted member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church, Frank found joy in his faith and the fellowship of his church family. His warm spirit was evident in his love for friends and the passions that filled his life. An avid golfer, Frank often reflected on his regret of not being able to play in his later years due to illness. He found solace in cooking on the grill, taking pride in his backyard, and sharing the joy of raising award-winning Miniature Schnauzers alongside his late wife, Norma Jean Carver. Their breeding endeavors not only brought them personal joy but also cultivated friendships that spanned the nation. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean; his sisters, Katherine McGee, Helen Lineberger, and Doris Knox; and his brother, Floyd Carver. He is survived by his sons, George Camp and his partner, Lisa Woods, and Joshua Camp. He also leaves behind a loving extended family, including nieces Sherry Lowrance, Marline Lyerly, Kathy Knox, Dianne Knox, Theresa Knox, and nephews Alen and Bill Lineberger. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice nurses, physicians, and staff for their unwavering compassionate care during Frank's final days. They also extend their appreciation to his beloved church family and friends for their continuous support and kindness, which will always be remembered. A memorial service to honor Frank's life will be held in the near future at Mount Pleasant Methodist Church, where friends and family will gather to celebrate his remarkable journey. Friends are invited to share stories and memories, reflecting on a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
