Frances Park Lippard Shoe, 90, of Mooresville, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at her home. She was born in Salisbury on December 30, 1925 to the late Luther Alexander and Maggie Park Lippard. Frances was secretary and treasurer for Mooresville Motor Company which was the family business. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Mooresville. She enjoyed playing the piano, and she sang in the choir all her life, through junior to adult. She was also involved in Sunday school and the ladies circle. Frances was a member of the greatest generation any society has ever produced. That whole generation believed success came from hard work, sacrifice and perseverance. This perseverance was clearly shown in the last few years of her life as she kept overcoming the many obstacles that age brings. She was one tough sweet lady. Frances loved all people and was always concerned about her family. She and her late husband, Grady, loved to travel and took many cruises to Europe and Alaska. They both loved to ride, especially in Grady’s 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible. Going to their condo in North Myrtle Beach always brought them great joy especially when family or friends came along. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Grady Cress Shoe and a brother, Rev. Aaron Lippard. Frances is survived by sons, Grady Jeff Shoe (Gail), Randy Shoe (Debbie) and Ronnie Shoe (Melanie); daughter, Jane Shoe Beaver; sister, Martha L. Smith; grandchildren, Grant Shoe, Leah Owen, Meredith Shoe, Seth Shoe and Oliver Shoe; great daughter, Zoe Shoe. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Swix officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be immediately following the service in the church Family Life Center. Burial will follow the visitation in Glenwood Memorial Park. The family would like to give a heartfelt appreciation for two angels-Julia Krider and Margaret Adams for their loving care in the last few years of her life. The family would also like to thank Dr. Tom Gross for his guidance and kindness during her declining years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grady Shoe Family Endowed Scholarship Fund, c/o Catawba College, 2300 W.
