Donnie Ray Carver, 63, of Mooresville, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born on September 5, 1952 in Mooresville, to the late Alvin Carver and Mildred Coggins Corriher. Donnie was a painter, enjoyed to hunt, and loved spending time with his grandkids. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Sherrill. Donnie is survived by his wife of 30 years, Melanie Overcash Carver; daughter, Marian Carver; sisters, Diane Pardue, Maggie "Cricket" Todd and husband, Jerry, Deanie Kirby and husband, Larry; and grandchildren, Ophelia Scott, Zane Kemp, and Gabriel Kemp. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 17 Vanderburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Conder and Rev. Mike Burchette officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 128 S Tryon St, Ste 1588, Charlotte, NC 28202. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the Carver family.
