Delores Louise Griffith, 82, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Crestview Health & Rehab in Mooresville. Delores was born on December 20, 1943, in Highland Park, Michigan, to the late Wilbert and Dorothy Baker Griffith. She grew up on a dairy farm and graduated from Royal Oak John Dylan High School in 1962. Following high school, she completed two years of study at Detroit Bible College before attending Highland Park Junior College, where she majored in Secretarial Sciences and graduated in 1966. Delores was a devoted member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Michigan, where her entire family worshiped. Delores's journey in faith and service took her to Murfreesboro, TN, where she worked as the editor's secretary at the Sword of the Lord. It was here that she was introduced to the Bill Rice Ranch, a pivotal moment that deepened her commitment to the deaf community. Her time at the ranch, working with deaf children, brought her immeasurable joy and a sense of purpose. During her years in Murfreesboro, she also actively participated in the deaf ministry at Franklin Road Baptist Church, where her love for service grew even stronger. It was at the Bill Rice Ranch that Delores met her dear husband, Albert L. Troxler. Their union, celebrated at Franklin Road Baptist Church, was marked by love, faith, and shared commitment to community service. Together, they built a life devoted to enriching the lives of others. Delores continued her educational journey at Rowan Cabarrus Community College, where she studied elementary education and sign language. She went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from UNC-Charlotte, igniting a passion for teaching that would impact countless students throughout her career. She found a special calling at the Morganton School for the Deaf, where she dedicated herself to fostering a love of learning in her students before later continuing her work in Concord, NC. In her later years, her love for children and community shone brightly as she took on the role of crosswalk duty at an elementary school, ensuring the safety of the young ones she cherished so deeply. Delores was an active member of Pitts Baptist Church during her teaching years, serving as an interpreter during services and extending her loving heart to all who entered. Her kindness and passion for helping others left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Delores's life was characterized by her unwavering dedication to education, her love for children, and her deep faith. She was a gentle spirit who inspired those around her with her warmth and compassion. She is survived by her four siblings, Wesley (Gail), Earl (Pat), Jimmy (Beverly), Verna Jean as well as her son, DIL; four grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
