Daniel "Danny" Scott Jones, 25, of Mooresville, NC, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016. He was born on March 2, 1990 in Beaver County, PA, to Daniel Ray Jones and Jennifer Ulicny Jones. Danny grew up in the Toledo, Ohio area, where he was a member of the Springfield Cowboys and the Springfield Blue Devils baseball teams. Many of his most cherished memories and friendships were created here and they still carry on today. As Danny moved on to high school he began to hone his skills in wrestling. He wrestled for both Toledo St Johns and the Lake Norman Wildcats. As a two time team captain he helped lead Lake Norman to their first ever conference title. It was here that he met his dear friend, coach, and mentor, Morgan Fore. They traveled the country together to many Regional and National Tournaments. Our family would like to thank Coach Fore, his wife Melanie and son Brantley for their unwavering support of our son. Danny attended both UNC Pembroke and UNC Charlotte, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also enjoyed rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Charlotte Hornets. He had recently begun his professional career with 84 Lumber working in both Charlotte and Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Lisa Marie Jones. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Ashley Jones; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Barbara Ulicny; paternal grandparents, John Dahl (Suella) and Norma Jones (Lynn); aunts and uncles, Eddie and Tammie Copelin, Greg and Nicole Ballay and David and Dana Dahl. One of Danny’s greatest joys was being the oldest cousin of his generation. His special bond with his younger cousins was very evident. He will be remembered as their hero and will be greatly missed by, Brandon, Cameron, Ethan, Madison, Ruby, Gavin, Addison, Ryan and Abbigail. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Mimosa Cemetery in Davidson. Danny was an outgoing, big hearted loving man who was truly committed to his friends and family. His big smile and joyous laugh will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in Heaven Baby Boy!
