Brian Eugene Clay, 56, of Mt. Pleasant, NC, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Carolinas Medical Center Main, Charlotte, NC. He was born in Concord, NC, on October 9, 1969, to Virginia Rose (Tharp) Wyatt and the late Bobby Ray Clay. Brian was employed for over 26 years by Technicon Acoustics, Concord, NC. Brian was a very active member of various Masonic organizations. He was a member of Albemarle Lodge 703, Albemarle, NC serving as Treasurer and was Past Master in 2019. He was also an honorary member of Allen Graham Cabarrus Lodge 695, Kannapolis, NC. A member of Oasis Shrine Temple, Charlotte, NC, he proudly served as 1st Lieutenant of The Oasis Patrol Unit and the Oasis Pork Patrol BBQ Team. Brian was Past President of the Cabarrus Shrine Club, Kannapolis, NC. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason as a member of the Charlotte Valley of the AASR-SJ, Orient of NC, where he served as Venerable Master in 2023 and was Assistant Director of the Supernumeraries. Brian was a member of the Salisbury York Rite, Salisbury, NC. He was a member of Albemarle Chapter 71 OES, Albemarle, NC, serving as Past Worthy Patron on several occasions. He was a member of The Royal Order of Jesters Charlotte Court 109, Charlotte, NC, and the Order of Quetzalcoatl Teocali 99, Greensboro, NC. Brian was also a member of Monroe Bodies of the AMD and was proud to serve as the 29th Masonic District Ambassador to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford. He loved his family and many friends and enjoyed fundraising activities for any charitable cause brought to his attention. In addition to his mother, Virginia, Brian is survived by his fiancé, Linette Wensil; and daughter, Briana Clay Pickell (Patrick). A Celebration of Brian's life will be on Saturday, July 25, at 11:00 AM, with Masonic Funeral Rites, at the Oasis Shrine Temple, 604 Doug Mayes Place, Charlotte, NC 28262. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children, c/o Oasis Shriners, 604 Doug Mayes Place, Charlotte, NC 28262.
