Anthony "Tony" Thomas Barkiewicz (May 2, 1956 - May 29, 2014) Anthony â€œTonyâ€ Thomas Barkiewicz, 58, of Mooresville, NC, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Savior in his home on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 2:30 pm. Tony was born on May 2, 1956 in Passaic, NJ. Before moving to Mooresville, he and his family lived in West Orange, NJ, where he owned ServiceMaster Cleaning Services of North Essex. For the past six years, Tony worked for Loweâ€™s in their Northlake Charlotte, NC store. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony John Barkiewicz; sister, Susan; grandparents, Michelina and John Barkiewicz, Ingrid and Warren Hansen, Mary and Steve Griffoul; and Lois Hansen. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Barkiewicz (Maiden: Griffoul); son, Matthew; daughters, Sarah Dillard and husband, BJ, Amanda , Danielle and fiancÃ©, Jared; sister, Wendy Barkiewicz and brother-in-law, Michael Torre; brother, William; sister-in-law, Mary Reiutz and husband, Steve; nieces, Jamie, Elizabeth and Ruth Reiutz; nephew, Billy; grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas Barkiewicz and Elliot Rose Dillard; and dearest friends, Judy and Bill Pittman. Tony lived a life faithful to His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He deeply loved his wife of 32 years, Sharon, and his four children. Tony was so proud to see his children graduate from Western Carolina University and to have all four of them know and walk with the Lord. He also loved his two grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas and Elliot Rose, dearly. Even during his final days, Ben and Elliot always brought a smile and a glow of happiness to his face. Tony was a man of integrity, a man who loved his family and a man who loved his Lord. He enjoyed serving others and is remembered as a kind, loving, and faithful husband, dad, and friend. A celebration of life will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, June 2 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Ireland officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-6:30 PM at the funeral home. Special thanks to Hospice of Iredell County, especially Scarlett, Anita, JoAnne, and Doctor Giallanza of G. Neurology for their wonderfully loving care.
