    Margaret Owen Rogers

    October 21, 1932 - June 11, 2022

    Margaret Owen Rogers, 89, of Mt. Ulla, NC, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at her home. She was born on October 21, 1932, in Rowan County, to the late Wilburn Leon Owen and Ruth Elizabeth Lippard Owen. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Claude "Wimp" Leon Rogers, Sr., granddaughters, Kelly Rogers McKusick, Amy Malinda Patterson, Suzy Rogers; brother, Leon Owen and daughter-in-law, Kathy Kennedy Rogers. Margaret was a 1951 graduate of Mt. Ulla High School. She worked for 30 years as a teacher's assistant at Park View Elementary School in Mooresville before her retirement. She was loved by her students, and she loved them. She was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Mary Martha Circle and Keenage Club. Margaret is survived by her children, Claude Rogers, Jr. (Connie), Kenneth Rogers (Carolyn Ross), Melvin Rogers (Kim), Karen Patterson (Bobby) and Sharon Lloyd (Jimmy Gibbs); siblings, Tommy Owen and Gilda Brown; grandchildren, Casey Fero (Brian), Joshua Rogers (Kimberly), Jerrod Rogers, Samantha Lindon (Nathan), Courtney Patterson (Chastin), Justin Lloyd (Yasmin), Shawn Lloyd (Leigh Ann); great-grandchildren, Kyndall, Blake, Sophia, Auri, Garrett, Kerith, Amy, Avery, Braylee, Sloan, Harrison, Cya and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly and that loved her. Services will be held on Monday, June 13, at 3:30 PM at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Dawn Rister officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00-3:15 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, 5080 Sherrills Ford Rd., Salisbury, NC 28147.
