George Thomas Webster, Jr., 96, of Mooresville, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022. He was born on January 26, 1926 in Dinwiddie, VA, to the late George and Florence Borum Webster. Mr. Webster was a WWII veteran serving in the US Navy, where he was a pharmacist mate. He was later a volunteer for Hospice of Iredell County. He was an avid golfer and loved to fish, travel, and do yard work. Mr. Webster could be friends with anyone and never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, LuElla Steinagel Webster; son, Paul Webster; brother, Charles Richard Webster; and sisters, Mildred Owens, Betty Thurston, and Wrenn Monk. He is survived by his wife, Betty Poole Webster; children, George T. Webster III (Carol), Sharon Neese (Terry), Amanda Webster; stepchildren, Danny Poole (Beth), Donna McClure (Andy); eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
