Cathy Anita Greene, 68, of Mooresville, NC, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 24, 1952 in Mooresville, NC to the late Clarence and Faye Brown Owens. Cathy enjoyed swimming, shopping, and visiting with her neighbors. She loved to watch NASCAR and was a Jeff Gordon fan. Cathy also enjoyed watching her family play pool volleyball. She enjoyed her family and her grandchildren; she was faithful to attend the activities her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews were involved in. Cathy was a double amputee, but she never let it slow her down. She was a fighter, never met a stranger, and would help anyone any way that she could. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Owens. She is survived by her sons, Joe Greene (Kelli), Ricky Greene, Chad Greene (Jennifer); special niece who she helped raise, Tonya Holbrook (Dereck); sister, Terry Barnhardt (Mike); grandchildren, Jacob, Morgan, Skye, Madison, and Tyler Greene, Levi and Lindsay Holbrook. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 26 from 1:00-3:00 PM with a service following at 3:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Karriker officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.
