Armanto A. Yaniero, 89, fondly known as Al, died on June 2, 2021, at his home in Cornelius, NC. An avid fan of the Carolina Panthers and the New York Yankees, Al loved God, his family, and the St. Therese Catholic Church community. Al was born on March 5, 1932, to Maria Francesca Messeri and Clemente Yaniero in Middlesex, NJ. He attended Upsala College in East Orange, NJ, receiving a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He retired from Universal Studios in Grover, NC, where he served as Quality Control Director. Al was preceded in death by his parents, and his two brothers, Bellardine and John. He was married for nearly 65 years to his sweetheart, Lois Darrar Yaniero. Together they have 5 sons: William C. (Amy) Yaniero with their children Lexi (Jones), Brett, and Dylan; Michael G. (Fay) Yaniero with their children Rachel and Jacob; Robert A. (Holly) Yaniero with their children Alex, Ben, and Grace; Glenn T. (Trish) Yaniero with their child Whitney; and John D. (Kelli) Yaniero with their children Gavin and Sofia. Al is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Ann Yaniero and Kathy Testa, nephew Ron (Diane) Yaniero, niece Mary Lynn Yaniero (Peter) Palmer, nieces Kathie (Robert) Cadmus and Sharon (Mark) Smith, and nephew Fred (Michelle) Testa. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 4 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 5 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery in Cornelius. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Al's memory to Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman (hpccr.org) or the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or St. Therese Catholic Church (sainttherese.net).
