Angelina Mastrogiulio Accardi, "Angie", 94, of Mooresville, NC, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Novant Hospital under Hospice care surrounded by her loving family. Angie was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1926, moved to Long Island and eventually settled in Fort Pierce, Florida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Accardi, her sister Antoinette Amore and her brother Joey. Survived by her "baby" sister Rosemaie Harris Forte, son James and his wife Meg Accardi, her daughter JoAnn and husband Alan Estergomy. Grandchildren James Accardi, Garry and Jean Andreano, Anthony and Melissa Andreano, Kimberly Accardi and Angela and Steve Avvento. Great grandchildren Garry III, Vincent, Christian, Violet, Anthony, Gianni, Dylan, Andrew and Reeve. Great-great grandchildren Nora, Abel, Ariana and Benjamin. Angie was outgoing by nature and a friend to everyone who met her. Most important to her was family, friends, entertaining and cooking more food than was possible to eat. Her door was always open and her table always ready to feed all that entered. Her laughter, smile and joy was contagious. She was witty, spunky and feisty even at 94 years old. She could out shop the best of the shop-a-holics. She was the life of every party and loved making others happy. Angie was not only a friend to all that met her, she also became an instant celebrity on her son Jimmi's radio show in California (KVMR 89.5 ), sharing her recipes, funny stories and giving advice to all. Her personality and breath of fresh air traveled throughout the internet as phone calls would come flooding into the station to talk to her. Angie quickly became an overnight sensation and loved by all her fans. She was a faithful, spiritual and prayerful woman. She prayed every day for those that were sick, lonely or depressed. She loved God and wanted everyone to know Jesus. She was a saleslady at Mid Island Department store and a homemaker who enjoyed planning parties. She was a member of Peninsula Baptist Church and joined a crotchet group at the Mooresville Civic Center. Angie took great pride in her appearance and always dressed in style. A Celebration of life service will be held by the family on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 2 PM, with Rev. Dr. Robert Jackson officiating. Visitation to follow.
