Zetta Howard Thompson

Zetta Howard Thompson, 91, of Mecklenburg Hwy, Mooresville, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Genesis Eldercare, Mooresville. Born September 1, 1920, in Mecklenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Horace W. and Annie Bell Wilhelm Howard. Mrs. Thompson was a 1937 graduate of Cornelius High School. She was a retired inspector for Burlington Industries, Mooresville, having over 40 years of service. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Cornelius, where she served on the Evangelism Committee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl C. Thompson; brothers, Rozzell, Vaughn and Hubbert Howard; and sisters, Mazel Thompson and Audrey Hobbs. Mrs. Thompson is survived by a brother, Keith Howard, of Mt. Juliet, TN and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Cornelius, with Rev. Michael F. Bailey and Rev. Jill S. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
